Introduction
Home to eight of the world’s ten highest peaks, Nepal is loaded with spectacular mountain vistas. The Everest region is famous, not only for its proximity to the world’s highest mountain (8848m) but also for its friendly Sherpa people, colorful festivals, and Buddhist monasteries. The flora and fauna are other ornaments of the Sagarmatha National Park, and the story of the yeti is still a mystery to the world from the Khumbu region.
This is an out standing trek visiting the high lush valleys of the Khumbu with time to explore villages and monasteries and to sample the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people.
Adventure begins with a sweeping flight to Lukla. A popular destination which provides a fascinating contrast to the high mountain scapes as we approach nearer. We trek slowly to Phakding where we will be staying our first night in. The next day we trek ahead to the Sherpa capital Namche Bazaar. We have time to acclimatise ourselves, before following the quiet trail to Thyangboche with incredible view of Mt. Khangtega, Mt. Thamserku and the Nuptse – Lhotse wall with the Mt. Everest rearing above.
A flight to Kathmandu concludes our short but spectacular trek.
